A DATE CAN CARRY A LOT

The maths is simple. The reason you keep coming back to the date may not be.

SINCE

How long has it been?

Use a past date to measure elapsed local calendar days.

UNTIL

How long is left?

Use a future date to measure remaining local calendar days.

IPHONE

Keep the count close

AND COUNTING supports native Lock Screen and Home Screen widgets so you do not have to recalculate it.

HOW THE CALCULATOR WORKS

Calendar days, calculated locally in your browser.

Days Since measures the local calendar-day difference from a past date to today. Days Until measures the local calendar-day difference from today to a future date.

The calculation uses calendar dates rather than a running total of elapsed hours, so daylight-saving clock changes do not create a one-day drift. Your optional phrase is presentation only and does not change the calculation.

No API, account or database is used by this web calculator. The entered date and phrase remain in the browser unless you explicitly use Copy or Share.

QUESTIONS PEOPLE ASK

The practical answers, once you know the date matters.

How do I calculate how many days it has been since a date?

Select Days Since and enter a past date. The calculator returns the difference in local calendar days between that date and today.

How do I calculate how many days are left until a date?

Select Days Until and enter a future date. The result shows the remaining local calendar days.

Does daylight saving time affect the answer?

The calculator compares civil calendar dates rather than elapsed hours, which avoids a one-day error when clocks move forward or back.

Is my date uploaded or stored?

No. The web calculation runs in the browser and does not send the entered date or phrase to an API or database.
